Emami to expand presence in the South

Emami is betting big on Ayurveda section for growth in the Indian market and apart from its retail expansion is also planning to diversify its product portfolio in the coming months. Emami had strengthened its Ayurveda segment with the acquisition of Kesh King which makes shampoos and oil for Rs 1,650 crore in 2015.

Since the acquisition, Kesh King has been a strong performing brand for Emami and contributed around Rs 250 crore to the company’s overall revenue during the last fiscal.

By entering the south market through Andhra Pradesh, the oil brand is planning to expand to Karnataka this fiscal. There is scope to add to the portfolio. Founded in 1974, Emami Limited is one of the leading personal and healthcare businesses in India, with a portfolio of over 300 products.
