Congress and the DMK question the uniform civil code

0

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a uniform civil code throughout the country. This move has been questioned by the Congress and the DMK. The ruling party in Tamil Nadu feels that the uniform code should first be applied to Hindus and every person including scheduled castes and scheduled tribes should be allowed to perform pujas and pray in any temple in the country.

Congress general secretary KC Venugopal stated that the burning issue in Manipur, the poverty, price rise and unemployment issues should be addressed first.
Uniform Civil Code means a set of laws that apply to every citizen in the country and will replace religion based personal laws, rules of inheritance, adoption and succession.
This is a very sensitive issue and the law commission has started a fresh consultation process by seeking views from all stakeholders.

Dr. Beena Unnikrishnan’s documentary ‘Y64’ trailer screened at Cannes Film Festival 2023

0

Dr. Beena Unnikrishnan, a renowned artist and film maker, presented the trailer of her documentary “Y64” at Cannes Film Festival on 21st May 2023. The film’s director Jain Joseph and project consultant Jithendra Misra were present on the occasion.

Dr. Beena Unnikrishnan has delved deep into her personal quest for self-discovery, driven by a desire to unleash the dormant feminine energy within her. Under the guidance of her mentor, the late Dr. M M Alex, Dr. Beena Unnikrishnan embarked on a spiritual odyssey that led her to the concept of yoginis. The Y64 documentary showcases the incredible feminine power of the yogini goddesses of the 9th century.

These goddesses were worshipped for their abilities to grant wishes, healing powers, and their mystical knowledge. What’s remarkable is that these goddesses portrayed in the documentary are all women – a testament to the strength and power women possess.

The documentary, Y64 explores the world of feminine and masculine energy depicted in the concept of ARDHANAREESWARA , a half male and half female concept in Hindu Philosophy. The film advocates the coexistence of these dual energies within the individual and its union for unleashing energy to accomplish the missions in this world.

This documentary is an inspiring reminder of the incredible power of feminine nature and how it has been celebrated in the past, in union with the masculine aspect, which is time.

The film showcases the stunningly beautiful artworks of Beena, which captures spirituality and divinity in every brushstroke. Through her intricate paintings, she has portrayed the essence of yoginis with grace and elegance, leaving the viewers in a state of astonishment.

G100 is a powerful system of eminent women of exceptional caliber who are leaders in their own right, determined to come together for a greater tomorrow. In a profound sense of collaboration, respect, and mutual support, G100 is supporting the aspiring documentary ‘Y64’ which is focused on feminine divinity.

What makes this documentary truly unique, however, is its structure – it has three layers. Layer one is the reflections of Beena, speaking about her experience as an artist. layer two is the historical and geographical facts about the seven temples and layer three is most important, the exploration into the concept of yogini in Hindu philosophy.

In this way, the documentary takes on a deeply personal and introspective tone, as the filmmaker reflects on her own experiences and growth throughout the process of making the film. This approach lends a powerful sense of authenticity to the project, making it a must-see for anyone interested in spirituality or personal growth. The unveiling of the trailer of Y64 Documentary in Cannes revealed stunning visuals, a gripping storyline, and brilliant experiences.

Jain Joseph, the Director of Y64, has succeeded in communicating intense and complex layers of the film with simplicity. The visual narrative of their travel to the existing yogini temples, gives a deep insight into Indian mythology.Overall, Y64 Film is a powerful example of how the world can benefit from the coexistence of genders and the celebration of feminine energy, which had been discovered and practiced from as early as the 9th century in India.

In India’s G20 presidency, this would be a wonderful opportunity to showcase our global commitment to women-led development, one of the six key priority areas for the presidency, uplifting all the more our march toward Amrit Kal with robust leadership of women and SHAKTI RISING in the vision of VASUDEVA KUDUMBAKAM (the world as one).
