After protesting on the streets for around six months in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, the wrestlers have called off their protests on the streets and have decided to continue the fight in court. The wrestlers have been accusing Wrestling Federation of India Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexually assaulting female wrestlers.

Elections to elect a new WFI  President and executive committee is scheduled to be held on July 11.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has completed an investigation based on First Information Reports filed by six female wrestlers and filed a 1500 page charge sheet against Brij Bhushan under various sections of IPC  on June 15.
The wrestlers also issued a letter to Sports Minister Anurag Thakur asking for time to prepare for the trials for the Asian Games and World Wrestling Championships. They have requested the Minister to conduct the trials after August 10.
