Sanna Marin, the outgoing Prime Minister of Finland has jointly filed for divorce with her husband Markus Raikkonen. Though they lived together for 19 years, they got married only three years ago in 2020 when Marin was dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.
Marin and Raikkonen have a 5 year old daughter. They shared separate posts that they are grateful for the 19 years that they lived together and that they will remain best friends.
Sanna Marin and her Social Democratic Party lost the elections held last month. She was the world’s youngest prime minister when she became Finland’s prime minister in 2019 at the age of 37. She is considered to be a millennial role model for progressive new leaders.
