Dukmit Lepcha an 82 year old woman from Sikkim had always dreamt of paragliding. She finally fulfilled her dream and became the oldest paraglider of Sikkim. She took to the skies from a paragliding point near the Aangi Monastery at Ranka, a small town about 20 kms from Gangtok.
She flew for about 6 minutes at an elevation of about 4,500 feet and was cheered by her family and the onlookers. Dukmit thoroughly enjoyed the experience of gliding across the beautiful landscape surrounded by the Himalayas and white clouds. She was not one bit scared and in fact wished to stay up there for a longer time.
