At a press briefing in Geneva, World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that the number of deaths due to coronavirus has been the lowest throughout the world since March 2020 and it could be a turning point in the global outbreak.
He felt that the end of the pandemic was in sight. In his weekly report on the pandemic, it has been stated that only around 11,000 deaths have been reported worldwide. There was a drop of 28 percent in the disease in every part of the world.

However, WHO warned that relaxed Covid testing and surveillance in many countries may lead to many cases going unnoticed. Maria Van Kerkhove, the WHO’s technical lead on Covid-19 said that there may be future waves of the disease but was hopeful that they would not cause many deaths.
