A woman in the US state of Arizona accidentally ran her car over her 13 month old daughter and killed her near the family’s Cottonwood home last week. She later called the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office to inform them about the accident.
The woman, Jafria Thonberg was trying to park the car outside their residence and presumed that she placed her daughter Cyra Rose Thoeming, in her car seat. While she was repositioning the car, the front tire caught the canopy of the car seat causing it to fall backward and led to the child suffering critical injuries.
In spite of medical personnel performing life saving measures on the child, she lost her life and was pronounced dead at the Verde Valley Medical Centre. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau is conducting an investigation into the issue. It is not known if the mother will be charged for causing her daughter’s death.
