This is PM Narendra Modi’s first cabinet reshuffle during his second term

For the first time since the Narendra Modi government started its second term, a cabinet reshuffle is taking place. Today Union Minister for health, Harsh Vardhan and Minister of State for Health Ashwini Chaube have resigned ahead of the reshuffle. The government has been facing a lot of flak for handling the second wave of the Corona virus and they are keen on averting an impending third wave.

It has been reported that PM Narendra Modi along with top leaders Amit Shah and JP Nadda have been appraising the performance of the ministers during the last couple of weeks. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar have also resigned among others.  43 ministers are expected to be sworn in today.
