Twins Timothy and Lydia Ridgeway were born 30 years after they were frozen as embryos in the year 1982. The biological parents of the infants have remained anonymous. They are said to have donated their leftover embryos to the National Embryo Donation Centre after going through IVF.

This Christian nonprofit organisation offers embryos and IVF to heterosexual couples who have been married for at least three years. Philip and Rachel Ridgeway live in Washington and have four children. They were motivated to have more children and so selected the frozen embryos in December 2021. They were transferred to Rachel who gave birth on October 31, 2022 at 38 weeks. While Timothy weighed 6 pounds and 7 ounces, Lydia weighed just 5 pounds. The twins record breaking delivery was verified by the University of Tennessee Preston Medical Library
