A television actress Nilani attempted suicide at her home in K K.Nagar by consuming poison. She was rushed to the hospital. She filed a complaint with the Mylapre police stating that one Lalitkumar an assistant film director was harassing her to marry him. After she rejected his marriage proposal, the said Lalitkumar committed suicide.
The next day she filed a complaint in the Police Commissioners office alleging character assassination by the media. She was trolled on social media and all the media coverage etc led her into depression. That was perhaps the reason she attempted suicide.
