Lapland in Finland has opened its first exclusive Game of Thrones Inspired Hotel which has brought some of the most popular locations of Westeros to life. Built by HBO Nordic in association with Lapland Hotels SnowVillage, this hotel is entirely made out of snow and ice. The Lapland Hotels SnowVillage is an ice hotel which comes up with a new theme every season.
Just for the construction of this accommodation during winters, as much as 20 million kg of snow and 3,50,000 kg of crystal clear natural ice were used. Located in Kittila, the resort lies at a distance of 200 km above the Arctic Circle, and a 90-minute drive away from Helsinki. This time, the GOT-themed hotel will be there till the 8th of April. Covering an area of 20,000 sqmts the GOT hotel has a total of 24 rooms which includes 10 suites for travelers.
Each room in the hotel is inspired by an ice figure from the popular TV show. The temperatures inside the hotel reach as low as minus 5 degrees, all the guests are provided with high-quality thermal sleeping bags to keep them warm. Other amenities include a dragon-themed bar where glasses are made of ice, a cinema and a restaurant having furniture made from ice.
