The state government’s prestigious Kalaimamani awards are given away by the Tamil Nadu Eyal Isai Nataka Mandram (literature, music, and theatre) for excellence in the field of art and literature. The Kalaimamani awards that are to be conferred every year, came to a halt in the year 2010 and no award was given thereafter till 2019 – which had honoured 201 artists with the prestigious award.
The list of winners for the Kalaimamani Awards 2019-2020 was announced, with many leading and reputed names being honored with the prestigious distinction. The Kalaimamani Award winners will be felicitated at the Secretariat at Fort St George in Chennai on February 20.
