A woman from Pretoria, South Africa has created a new world record by giving birth to 10 babies-7 boys and 3 girls. The woman named Gosiame Thamara Sithole and her husband Teboho Tsotetsi were surprised as scans revealed that there were only 8 babies in the womb. Out of the 10 babies, five were born by natural birth and the other five via caesarean section.

As of now, a woman from the US who delivered 8 babies in 2009 holds the Guiness World Record for the most children delivered at a single birth to survive. The Guinness World Records is investigating Gosiame’s case.
Usually multiple births involving more than three children are often the result of fertility treatments but in this case, the couple said that they did not go in for any such treatment but conceived naturally.
Gosiame has twins who are 6 years old and said she spent many sleepless nights during her pregnancy worrying about the multiple babies. Now both she and her husband are happy. In fact her husband said that he was over the moon and thanked God for the miracle.
