The sports star had recently announced that this will be her last season on tour
Days after she announced her retirement, Sania Mirza says that she regrets making the announcement. “..I think that I made the announcement too soon to be very honest, I am kind of regretting it because that’s all I am being asked right now.” She had stated that 2022 will witness her last season on tour. She went on to clarify that she is retiring as her health is being challenged. She also felt that she is putting her 3 year old son at risk by travelling with him during the pandemic situation. “I am playing tennis to win matches and until I play, I am going to try and win every match I play, so it (retirement) is not something that is on my mind constantly.” She has been India’s pride winning two Grand Slam titles, Asian games, Common Wealth games and is the former World No.1 in doubles.
