Kollywood film 96 starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha in lead roles was a huge success in the Tamil film industry. After Vinnaithandi Varuvaya, 96 was Trisha’s career-defining film. Now, the Telugu remake of the film titled Jaanu starring Samantha has been released and the film has been receiving a good response from the audience. Reportedly, Samantha has decided to retire from acting after having done her life’s most memorable performance in Jaanu. Samantha had liked Trisha’s performance better than that of Vijay Sethupathi in 96, and that’s the reason she opted to act for Trisha’s role in the Telugu remake.
In a recent interview, the actress said that she had decided to quit acting in cinemas in two or three years. Pointing out that an actress’s lifespan is always shorter than an actor’s in cinema, Samantha said that fans tend to forget the female stars after they have left the cinema. And hence, after delivering a fulfilling performance in Jaanu, the actress seems to have decided that it is time for her to quit and his decision of the actress has shocked fans.
