Salman Khan gets vaccinated

Salman Khan received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine at the Lilavati Hospital in suburban Bandra. The 55 year old actor shared the news on Twitter. His parents, veteran screen writer Salim Khan and producer Salma Khan received their first dose of the vaccine a few days ago.


The government has announced that from April 1, all people above the age of 45 will be eligible to get the vaccine. Even those without comorbidities who are more than 45 years old can get vaccinated.
Some of the other actors to get the vaccine are Sanjay Dutt, Sharmila Tagore, Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Jeetendra, Kamal Haasan, Nagarjuna, Neena Gupta, Rakesh Roshan and Johnny Lever.
The vaccination drive began on January 16 in India and healthcare workers got the first dose. Next in the line were frontline workers who received their immunisation on February 2. In the next phase which began on March 1, all those over the age of 60 years and those aged 45 and above with specific comorbid conditions received their dose of the vaccine.
