Russia is preparing to launch an actress and a film director into space to make the first movie in space.
The Russian crew will beat a Hollywood project that was announced earlier by Tom Cruise together with NASA and Elon Musk’s SpaceX.

Actress Yulia Pereslid and director Klim Shipenko will be led by veteran cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov and will travel in a Soyuz MS-19 spaceship on a 12 day mission to the International Space Station (ISS) to film scenes for the movie titled ”The Challenge”.
The plot of the movie is being kept under wraps but is supposed to centre around a female surgeon who is dispatched to the ISS to save an astronaut.
Yulia and Shipenko are expected to return to Earth on October 17 in a capsule along with cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky who has been on the ISS for the past 6 months.
