Barbados has become the world’s newest republic and its Prime Minister Mia Mottley has declared Rihanna, a national hero.
Rihanna is a multiple Grammy award winning singer and a billionaire too. She was conferred with the title of ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary in 2018.

Rihanna was born in Saint Michael and grew up in a troubled home in Barbados and attained fame when American producer Evan Rogers spotted her talent.
Rihanna is now estimated to be worth $1.7 billion and around $1.4 billion comes from her cosmetic company Fenty Beauty, which is a partnership with French fashion giant LVMH.
Rihanna now joins the band of 10 other Barbadians including Garfield Sobers, the greatest cricketer of all time. Incidentally, Sobers was present at the ceremony and he hugged Rihanna. The guest of honour for the ceremony was Prince Charles.
