Renowned Fashion Designer Satya Paul passes away

Renowned fashion designer Stya Paul passed away at the age of 78. He died at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore. His son Puneet Nanda announced his death in a Facebook post. He suffered a stroke on December 2nd and was admitted to hospital where he was recovering slowly. He was later shifted to the Isha Yoga Centre, which was his home since 2015 as per his wish.


Satya Paul was not only an entrepreneur and a designer but was also a seeker. His inner journey started in the 70’s when he started listening to the talks of a philosopher named J.Krishnamurty. Later on he discovered Sadhguru in 2007 and started enjoying the path of yoga and moved into the Yoga Centre in 2015. His son Puneet Nanda stated in his post that his father showered his love without any hesitation or barriers.


He is said to have brought a distinct vision to the Indian fashion industry. He entered into the field in the late 60’s and started exporting Indian handloom products to high-end retail stores in Europe and America. He launched the first saree boutique in India in 1980 along with his son and founded the fashion brand Stya Paul in 1986. The product range includes sarees, scarves, stoles, shawls, bags, clutches, ties, cufflinks and wallets.
