R.Vaishali achieved her Grandmaster title and has become the third Indian woman to become a GM after Koneru Humpy and Dronavalli Harika. It also makes the siblings Vaishali and Praggnanandhaa the first Grandmaster brother-sister pair in history.

Vaishali is the elder sibling and is 22 years old while Pragg is 18. They started playing chess as kids as their mother Nagalakshmi wanted them to watch less television. They took to chess as a duck takes to water and started excelling in the game.
Both brother and sister have qualified for the Candidates Tournament to be held in Canada next year.
For sometime Pragg has been overshadowing his sister but now Vaishali has come out of the shadow and has realised her true potential and begun to achieve her goals.
