PT Usha celebrates 30th Wedding Anniversary

India’s golden girl, PT Usha celebrated her 30th wedding anniversary and gave credit to her husband for all her success. She has been a great inspiration to athletes for all her achievements both on the track and on the field.


PT Usha was born in 1964 in Kuttali, Kozhikode, Kerala. She made her international debut in 1980 when she participated in the Pakistan Open National Meet and won four gold medals. She won 11 medals at the Asian Games which include four gold and seven silver medals and 14 Asian Championships. Usha also made it to the Los Angeles Olympics and earned the distinction of being the first Indian woman athlete to reach the finals of the Olympics. However, she narrowly missed the bronze medal in the 400m hurdles by 1/100th of a second but the timing she clocked there was 55.42 seconds and is a national record till date. She received the Arjuna Award in 1983 and the Padma Shri in 1985.
It is stated that behind every successful man is a woman but in her case, the roles are reversed and Usha acknowledges her husband as the man behind all her success as they celebrated 30 years of togetherness in her post on Twitter.
