As India is facing a surge in Covid-19 cases, CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai has informed that Google will be providing funding of Rs 135 crores for medical supplies to help communities.
Families who are hit hardest by the crisis will be provided with cash assistance to manage their daily expenses. A part of the funding will go to UNICEF to help get urgent medical supplies including oxygen and testing equipment for India.

The funding also includes increased Ad Grant support for public health information campaigns. Google is already helping India with its core information products like Search and Maps, You Tube and Ads. Covid features on Search are available in India, in English and in eight other languages that will highlight authoritative information. It provides information on where to get testing and vaccines. Besides this, Google is also supporting the Indian government in their vaccine communication strategy. It is also collaborating closely with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and with organizations like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to support vaccine awareness initiatives.
