LDF gets a sweeping win over UDF in Kerala with BJP winning zero seats

Left Democratic Front wins a second term in Kerala winning 99 seats out of 140 seats while 41 seats were won by Congress led UDF. The BJP that was expected to make significant inroads into Kerala in the Assembly elections won zero seats. This is a historic win for the LDF as it is the first time after 1977 that a party is winning two consecutive terms in a row.

A chaotic five year term for the LDF with the deadly Nipah, the floods and now the Coronavirus was handled efficiently under the leadership of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the health minister K K Shailaja and their team of leaders. K K Shailaja won by a margin of 60,000 votes re affirming the confidence of the Keralites in her ability to lead the state especially in matters of health.  Metroman E Sreedharan had initially had an impressive later but was later defeated by INC’s Shafi Parambil. The UDF is contemplating a major reshuffle to look into the reasons for their defeat. Pinarayi Vijayan addressed the press meet after his historic win saying that the historic win belongs to the people of Kerala and he thanked them for trusting him and his team.
