A 21 member opposition delegation will be visiting the strife torn state of Manipur where ethnic violence has been raging for almost 3 months. On their two day visit, they will land in Imphal around noon and take a chopper to Churachandpur where they will meet the Kuki tribe leaders and some women’s groups.

They will also visit relief camps and meet the victims of violence. The main aim of their visit is to find out the truth and put it before the Parliament. As the government has failed in this issue, the opposition is taking steps to see what solution can be found for the problems.
The Manipur issue has rocked Parliament since the beginning of the Monsoon Session. The government will have to face a no-confidence motion in the Parliament brought by the Congress.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi visited Manipur on June 29 and 30. So far around 180 people have died and thousands displaced since violence erupted on May 3.
