From Marakkar to Biriyani, Mollywood made its presence felt at the National awards
Directorate of Film Festival announced the 67th National Awards today and Marakkar – Arabikadalinte Simham won the best feature film award this year ! The big winners were Kangana Ranaut, Manoj Bajpayee and Dhanush who bagged awards for Best Actress and Best Actor.
Marakkar by Priyadarshan that has Mohanlal in the lead along with a slew of stars like Manju Warrier, Suhasini and Keerthy Suresh has not been released in theatres yet and fans are eagerly waiting to watch the movie on screen. Sidharth Priyadarshan, son of Priyadarshan also bagged the national award for the special effects category. The film also won awards for Best costume – Sujith Sudhakaran and V. Sai .
Other Malayalam films that shone at the National awards include Biriyani, Helen, Kolaambi, Jallikattu, Kenjira, Kalla Nottam and Oru Paathira Swapnam Pole.
