Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has sought time to appear before the Delhi Assembly’s panel citing personal and professional commitments.
Kangana was summoned by the panel due to her controversial and derogatory remarks on social media against the Sikh community. She was supposed to appear before the panel today.

The lawyer of the actress informed the panel that she will not be able to appear today and sought time. Raghav Chadha, who heads the committee said that it would inform its decision to the actress through a letter. The committee was formed after the riots in northeast Delhi in February, 2020.
Kangana had made a statement where she labelled Sikhs as Khalistani terrorists. This statement has the potential to cause disharmony and also wound the entire Sikh community. A FIR was filed against the actress by the Sikhs for using derogatory language against them on social media.
