Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida was evacuated unharmed when there was a blast at the campaign site. According to media reports, there was a blast and white smoke filled the air.
Footage showed the prime minister turning to look backwards after a person was detained by security and people moving away shrieking. Seconds later, a blast was heard and there was white smoke seen.

A man has been arrested at the scene on suspicion but the local people have not commented on the issue.
The PM resumed his campaigning and also stopped at a local train station.
It may be recalled that former prime minister of Japan Shinzo Abe was assassinated last year while he was speaking at a campaign event. After this, the country has bolstered security around politicians.
