The External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has accepted the suggestion of DMK MP from Thoothukudi, Kanimozhi, regarding a helpline to be set up to answer questions and allay apprehensions about coronavirus from Indians working and studying abroad. Kanimozhi while speaking in Parliament on the issue, thanked the Minister and his Ministry for clarifying doubts and providing timely information to queries raised by people regarding the virus.

The Minister responded saying that the helpline would be set up shortly. Quarantine centres would also be set up for those who have to make unavoidable foreign tours. When they returned home, they would be kept under quarantine for a period of two weeks to help contain the spread of the virus. So far one centre has been set up at Manser in Gurugram district of Haryana.
