Google celebrates 23rd birthday

Search engine Google is celebrating its 23rd birthday today and to mark the occasion, it has put up an adorable doodle on its homepage. It features a two-tiered cake with a candle and 23 inscribed on it.
Actually Google was founded on September 4, 1998 and celebrated its birth anniversary on that day for the first seven years. It was shifted to September 27 to coincide with the announcement of the record number of pages that the search engine was indexing.


It was co-founded by Sergey Brin and Larry Page. Sundar Pichai, succeeded Larry Page on October 24, 2015.
Google is used widely throughout the world and there are billions of searches in over 150 languages. Its first server was housed in a cabinet built out of toy blocks. Its servers now are housed in more than 20 data centers globally. The main mission of Google has always been to make the world’s information accessible to everyone.
