Engineer from Chennai wins James Dyson Award 2023

Pravin Kumar, a Chennai based engineer has won the James Dyson Award 2023 and was declared the national winner for India. He was selected for his innovation- Mouseware, a movement -based technology for people with upper limb disabilities.

He will receive prize money of approximately Rs 5 lakhs and will represent the country in the International round where the winners will be selected by Sir James Dyson.
Pravin Kumar started Dextroware Devices right after he graduated in order to make use of technology for the good of society. His aim is to create assistive technologies to empower people with disabilities through digital accessibility. He plans to make use of the invention for NGOs, special schools, hospitals and rehab centres to assist people with disabilities.
The James Dyson Award encourages students in over 28 countries to use engineering principles to solve problems.
