Some wings of the ruling DMK party in Tamil Nadu have called for a hunger strike across the state to protest against the Union Government for not exempting Tamil Nadu from NEET. There will be a day-long fast on August 20 at all the district headquarters to protest against the Union government’s insistence to continue with the exam and also against TN Governor R N Ravi’s irresponsible statements on this issue.

Functionaries of the youth wing, students wing and the doctors wing of the DMK have expressed their concern about NEET becoming a killer of students. They have blamed the BJP, the AIADMK and the Tamil Nadu Governor and held them responsible for the suicide of many students.
The ruling DMK Government has put in all efforts to eliminate NEET from the state and have assured the students that NEET exam is not permanent. They have requested the students to wait patiently till a solution is found.
