Congress pays tributes to Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary

The first woman Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi was killed by two of her own security guards on this day in 1984. The Congress paid tributes to her on her death anniversary today.


Her grandson Rahul Gandhi said that he continues to carry his grandmother’s love and values in his heart and he will not permit the India for which she sacrificed her life to fall apart.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former party chief Sonia Gandhi and some other senior leaders from the Congress party went and offered floral tributes at the Shakti Sthal memorial. Kharge also offered floral tributes to her at the AICC headquarters.
Kharge tweeted that Indira Gandhi had contributed in all fields-agriculture, economy as well as military to build India into a strong nation.
