The Tamkanat Art Gallery is currently holding an exhibition of a collection of works by several artists. Names such as Laxman Aelay, Thota vaikunta, Laxma Goud, Shravanti Juluri, Murli, Darla Babich, SS Mukerji, Afza Tamkanat and Rangoli Garg among others are part of the exhibition. The works are not of any particular theme but range from a telling social statement on a soldier by Afza Tamkanat to a water colour capturing a street scene in Kashmir in extreme detail.
Abstracts, animal motifs, people, flowers and landscapes juxtapose the various style of the artists who have created the works for this exhibition. Says Fawad Tamkanat who owns the gallery along with his brother, “I asked the artists to create fresh works for the exhibition so that there is a different range and it is fresh. There are takers for all kinds of art so I wanted various styles to be part of the exhibition.”
Judging by the range and diversity of the works, we are sure there is something for everyone here, especially because the paintings are not exorbitantly priced.
The exhibition started on the 17th of May and is on for a month at Tamkanat Art Gallery, Banjara Petals, Road No. 5, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.
