CJI of India advises lawyers to wear masks in courtrooms

The Chief Justice of India N V Ramana advised lawyers to wear masks in court halls as many judges and staff were contracting Covid -19 infection.


He was hearing a plea on freebies along with Justice Krishna Murari on the bench when he made this request to lawyers at the start of the court proceedings.
The Solicitor General Tushar Mehta tested negative for the virus while Senior Advocate AM Singhvi tested positive.
It has been observed that the number of Covid cases are on the rise in the country and therefore citizens have been advised to wear masks, follow social distancing and make use of sanitisers.
