Consul General of Isreal in Bengaluru, Jonathan Zadka celebrated the festival of Hanukkah by lighting the lamp to pray for peace and happiness for all in the days and years ahead alongwith Deputy Consul General Ariel Seidman, General Manager Taj West End, Bengaluru Somnath Mukherjee and other dignitaries. It was a fine evening of cocktails and some signature food prepared by Executive chef, Sandip Narang from Taj West End, Bengaluru over a fun tête-à-tête with Chef Shaul Ben Aderet from Blue Rooster and Kimmel Gilboa, Israel.

The chefs interacted with Bengaluru’s food experts and enthusiasts on culture and cuisine demonstrating signature Indian and Israeli dishes, while the guests feasted on a five-course sit-down dinner. Both the chefs presented their iconic dishes showcasing the spirit of their country. The Taj Ballroom came alive with live music, sparkling, mulled wines & wine cocktails and a lip-smacking dinner. The Israeli dishes included the Charcoal burnt eggplant, Roasted cauliflower with tahini, Hummus, Charaime (spicy fish in tomato sauce), Lamb Shawarma and Sutlach and Baklava for dessert. The Indian dishes like the Meen varuval, Dahi singada kebab, Kurkure nadru, Makki roti and Sarson ka saag and Anjeer halwa for dessert, blended seamlessly with the Israeli dishes.

The host teams were trained on heightened safety, hygiene and physical distancing protocols under the renewed spirit of ‘Tajness – A Commitment Restrengthened’.
