Talking Spaces is a design show which resourcefully seeks to integrate the raw honesty of art with the receptivity of design. The show is organised by Varsha Menon, Principal Architect and Designer of VM Design Works. The art show will showcase the works of 14 artists and 14 designers from Chennai — a result of careful collaboration between the esteemed artists and designers who were paired up, the works draw on the blurry lines that separate the two fields.

The show was held on February 26th and 27th,2021 at Forum Art Gallery. Artists such as Asma Menon, A. V. Ilango, Benitha Perciyal, Biswajit Balasubramanian, and many more will showcase their artwork with diverse aspects, such as the philosophical concepts, formal properties, colour schemes, and their overarching mood.

Talking Spaces is an effort to exercise expertise across the disciplines of art and design, and harness the mixed skill sets and the potential for innovation. By curating this show, Varsha Menon hopes to grant both disciplines more visibility in the city’s contemporary culture and bring more engagement by building a network of mutual support that combines and empowers each of their voices.
