Hemanth, the husband of Chitra, popular VJ and actress has been arrested by the police for allegedly abetting her suicide. Her mother had accused Hemanth of beating her daughter to death. The post mortem report shows that Chitra died by suicide due to stress and financial issues. Hemanth has been charged with abetting her suicide.
Investigations revealed that Hemanth was angry and harassed Chitra for acting in intimate scenes in a TV serial named Pandian Stores that is being aired on Vijay TV. Chitra and Hemanth tied the knot in October this year and had a registered marriage. They planned to have a grand wedding in February next year. They were staying in a hotel near the shooting spot. Hemanth told the investigators that they returned from the shooting early morning on the 9th of December. They had an altercation regarding the intimate scenes of Chitra. He left the hotel and when he opened the door with a duplicate key procured from the hotel staff, he found Chitra dead.
