Jyoti Kumari, a 15 year old girl, cycled 1200 kms with her injured father to take him to his native place. Kumari was residing in Gurgaon before the lockdown. Her father was an autorickshaw driver. As her father was injured, he had to return the auto to the owner. With no means of income, the father daughter duo decided to travel to their native place in Bihar. Left with no other alternative, Kumari cycled for 1200 kms in a span of 6 days. Looks like this effort of hers will turn out to be a life changing opportunity for the brave lass.
The Cycling Federation of India has invited her to Delhi next month. They have agreed to bear all the expenses for her travel, boarding and lodging. She will also be permitted to bring a family member to accompany her from Bihar to Delhi. The Chairman of the Cycling Federation of India, Onkar Singh told the press that he was impressed with the feat of Kumari, a student of class 8, and said that she would be selected as a trainee of the state of the art National Cycling Academy if she passed the trial.
