Georgia, a 11 year old girl has been crowned the winner of the Junior MasterChef Australia 2020. She bagged the trophy, title and a cash prize of $25,000. Georgia cooked her grandmother’s Srilankan recipes. The dishes she prepares included pork curry, cashew curry, eggplant curry, yellow rice, papadam and cucumber raita.
Her dessert named ‘Tropical Mess’ literally turned out to be a mess as it literally fell apart. It consisted of toasted coconut icecream, brown bread crumbs, Davidson plum pearls and plum meringues and a lemongrass granite. The challenge was to be ‘as fancy as possible’. Each contestant was asked to cook a two course meal for four people including a dessert. Georgia’s main course stood out even though her dessert crumbled. She was adjudged the winner as her dishes were simply delicious.
