Before 2020 winds up, almost half of the online fashion shoppers will be women. As per a study titled “Fashion Forward 2020” , India’s online fashion commerce market would grow fourfold to $30 billion or nearly 2 lakh crores.

The 2020 shoppers will no longer be the typical young, metro residing males but around half of the shoppers base will be women and out of this figure, more than 37 percent will be above the age of 35.  Fashion is the first category that most people buy online and nearly 30 percent of new shoppers are likely to kickstart the year by purchasing apparel and footwear. Fashion e-commerce has shown an upward trend in the recent years. While women look for variety, older shoppers care about convenience. Hence online shopping will focus on variety and convenience.
