Congress leader in the Lok Sabha, Adhir  Ranjan Chowdhury alleged that two women MPs of the Congress party were manhandled when they were protesting in the House over the formation of the Maharashtra government. The women Jyothimani from Tamilnadu and Ramya Haridas from Kerala have filed a complaint in the speakers office.
The incident took place when Speaker Om Birla asked for the eviction of two MPs from Kerala by  the marshals. As Congress leaders jostled with the marshals, the women MPs were manhandled. Both of them are very upset and angry that their rights to protest and their dignity and safety has been compromised within the Parliament itself. They said that they were there to represent the people and  whenever they felt it  necessary to protest, they should be allowed to do so as it is a democratic form of government and one of the basic principles of the Constitution.
