Seventeen women activists who were protesting against the clean chit given to Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi in the sexual harassment case were detained by the Delhi Police for assembling near the Rajiv Chowk metro station for staging a  demonstration.  The protestors held posters saying Supreme Court kuch toh sharam karo which means have some shame Supreme Court. They said that they stood in solidarity with the complainant and  refused to accept the report of the in-house committee which said that there was no substance in the complaint against the CJI.

They alleged that the principles of natural justice were  not followed in this case. Vani Subramaniam of Saheli Women’s Resource Centre said that there are only demands that the rule of law is  established and the rule of law prevails.. The Deputy Police Commissioner asked them to disperse. As the women continued to protest, 17 of them were detained and released later.
