Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is currently confined in Tihar jail in connection with a money laundering case related to the scrapped Delhi excise policy. He was arrested on March 21.

Kejriwal has filed a bail petition for him to campaign in the election to be held in Delhi on May 25. A bench comprising Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Dipankar Datta will take up the petition today.
In the previous hearing on May 3, the Supreme Court hinted at the possibility of granting interim bail to the Aam Aadmi Party leader in the light of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. The Court also acknowledged the time-consuming nature of legal proceedings.
The bench raised queries on the Delhi CM’s official duties especially the signing of official documents due to his current legal predicament.
