Wife of Israel’s PM convicted

Sara Netanyahu, the wife of israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been convicted of misusing public funds. She pleaded guilty to buying catered meals using State funds even though she had a cook. She was fined 10,000 shekels and was ordered to  reimburse the State with another 45,000 shekels  The Prime Minister was himself charged for bribery, fraud and breach of trust. Sara at the time of  trial which was packed with journalists told the judge that she was aware of the charges.

Her attorney told the court that his client already been heavily punished and that she has a reputation for finding legal loopholes to receive state funding for her households relatively high expenses. The original charge accused of paying 1 lakh dollars for hundreds of meals from a variety of well known Jerusalem businesses while falsely declaring that there were no cooks available at her residence.
