Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma donate Rs 2 crore for India’s Covid -19 relief

India’s cricket captain Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma have made a donation of Rs 2 crore towards a fundraising campaign to aid India’s Covid-19 relief.
They posted a video on social media that they are really pained to see the country suffer like this. They also posted their gratitude for all the people who are fighting day and night against the virus. They requested citizens to join in this fundraiser and make a donation as every little bit makes a difference.


The campaign aimed at launching a total of Rs 7 crore was launched yesterday on the platform Ketto in association with the NGO, United Way of Bengaluru. The beneficiary is ACT Grants which is a social change movement for the start-up ecosystem in India. The spokesperson of ACT Grants, Gayatri Yadav said that she was grateful to Virat and Anushka for joining in their mission.
Kohli also announced that his IPL team, Royal Challengers Bangalore would offer financial assistance to India to prop up its healthcare infrastructure related to Oxygen support.
