Vice President stresses importance of a healthy lifestyle

Vice President M. Venkiah Naidu who is in Chennai to inaugurate a hospital, stressed on the importance of a healthy lifestyle. He wants doctors to reach out to students by visiting their schools and conduct awareness campaigns. He said that doctors should adopt government or corporation schools, visit their classrooms and advise them about preventive health care. He wants the government to give tax incentives to those who set up hospitals in the rural areas.

Governor of Tamilnadu Banwarilal Purohit said that the State has done well by providing good health care compared to the rest of the country. Tamilnadu ranks first in the number of children given immunization. He said that health care meant not only covering tuberculosis and malaria but also diabetes, kidney diseases, hypertension and rheumatic heart diseases. He was happy to hear that Ayushman Bharat would be implemented in the hospital that was inaugurated and that all poor people would be benefitted.
