UK is getting ready for the coronation of King Charles III

The United Kingdom is gearing up for the coronation of King Charles III, to be held on the 6th of May. King Charles III, will be the 40th reigning monarch to be crowned at the central London church since King William I in 1066.


The coronation is the first in the UK in 70 years and will become the second coronation in history to be televised.
King Charles will also be the king of 14 other Commonwealth countries including Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
The ceremony will be about an hour long. There will be an ancient ritual of blessing the monarch with consecrated holy oil. The family members of King Charles and Camilla will take part in the ceremony and will be watched by over 2,000 dignitaries who are invited .A senior government minister has stated that there will not be any lavish expenditure but at the same time, as it is a marvellous moment in history, there will not be scrimping and scraping too.
