The Pollachi sex scandal is going to be handled by The Central Bureau of Investigation. This decision was taken by the State Government after the scandal got bigger and murkier. All the four accused were booked under the Goondas Act. This decision seems to have been prompted by public outrage just ahead of the crucial elections. Detaining the accused under the Goondas Act will encourage other victims to come forward and file complaints. The Police suspect that more than 50 women would have fallen prey to this gang  but only one girl aged 19 has come forward to lodge a complaint .

The victim’s brother and uncle met the district collector and requested that the issue is not politicized. The Deputy Speaker Pollachi V Jayaraman whose name has been dragged in the case addressed the media and even filed petition with the Chief Electoral Officer claiming that the Opposition Parties are making false allegations against him and his family. Only time will tell the truth behind the incidents.
