The case of the flying samosa

An Indian restaurant in the UK came up with an idea to spread some cheer around and decided to send a samosa to space. The samosa is said to have crash landed in France. Niraj Gadher, the owner of the Chai Walla eatery, thought of this idea to make people laugh during this bleak period. The restaurant owner used helium balloons to launch the samosa and it took three tries to get it right. The first time, the balloons slipped from his hands, the second time, he ran short of helium and he managed to get it right on the third attempt.

There is a video doing the rounds on YouTube which shows Niraj and his friends launching the samosa into space after attaching it to a weather balloon fitted with a GoPro camera and a GPS tracker. The group watched how the samosa travelled high up into the atmosphere. The next day, they got to know that the samosa had crash-landed in France. They then began sending messages to people in the area over Instagram to check if anyone would be willing to hunt down the snack. An Instagram user named Axel Mathon accepted the request and managed to track down the samosa in a field in Picardie. It felt like a treasure hunt for him though he thought it to be crazy.
