It was a Bollywood theme party at KoraMingle, Bangalore to celebrate 10 years of the First Facebook Group called Normal is Boring. The group is an initiative by Riitesh Panndya, a Bangalore-based think tank. It is a destress platform during troubled times and that remains the ethos of the group. His cool team comprises entrepreneurs Sreekar KV, Deepali Shanghbhag, Rohit Ashok, Jayanth Kothapalli and Anusha Murthy.
The group already has over 25,000 members and majority of them are women. This group is a great place for members to exchange views. It has now become a second home to many; particularly during the lockdown, everytime they want to share ideas or just unwind during these stressful times. A lot of depression cases were on the rise, due to isolation during the pandemic. This group aims to address that issue.
The party gave the members a chance to Reboot and Reconnect with great style and upbeat music with DJ Chico, DJ Wynk and DJ Bala playing foot-tapping Bollywood numbers creating a tempo that was unimaginable. The Signature decor was done by Rohit and emciing by Shobana uplifted the entire ambience and mood to a complete ethereal and surreal one. It was a perfect weekend with members dressed to the theme of retro Bollywood look. Needless to say, they were grooving to peppy tunes like never before after a real long time. They also followed the rules of temperature checks, masks, social distancing and sanitisers at the event. The group plans to host several such events in the coming future.
